A to Z

U. is for what lies beneath, I mean underneath. I have to say I am loving the A to Z prompts using the letters as prompts with a very liberal interpretation of the featured word. I’m really talking about the rather ominous beneath and not the simply creepy underneath though this post is U for Underneath.

So what is the difference between the two words? Not too much really. Be- has a more positive connotation than un- which means to take away or not have. Doo bee do be do.

Anyway, look at layers of meaning.

When You are Online

You really have to look at whose propaganda each person is forwarding.

I mean really, as is the case in Ukraine, is the former Soviet Spy Head, really dangerous? Did all those people die in Mariupol at Russia’s hands. Right now no one really knows what is going on, but if we are not going to disintegrate into a giant ball of stupidity, we have to make decisions about who we are going to believe. These can be at different levels or degrees of belief. Anyone who uses the word “side” is being divisive and trying to get people to fight. I prefer to work with people, but I will not spread things I believe to be untrue.

Unfriending

When I “unfriended” some of my Western friends I did so, so that I would not be tempted to look at the corrupted data on their feeds. It really had nothing to do with the people themselves, and the history I share with them but rather with them being a conduit to their misunderstandings and rather archaic political philosophies. These old relations could be everything from puppy love, to oldest friends, to early political opponents, to “Hey there Cuz!” relationships. Some have real philosophies to which they adhere, others seem to parrot ideas because they have been convinced by someone that they should. Both are dangerous, but they are very different.

Unfriending protects them too.

My friends who become incensed at negativity of an education-related post will not be able to get my old, old friends fired, by connecting all my dots to who they are, as I am no longer directly linked. You would have to do a lot of interpolation to figure out these friendships or relationships. Somewhere there is an article called, how to lie with data, I’m sure of it. It is sort of the confuse-a-cat strategy.

What You Stream

I would like everyone to know exactly who they allow in to their homes. Curiosity Stream and Discovery are connected. It seems both were started by John Hendricks. The Travel Channel is owned by Warner Discovery. But what about the History Channel and the Travel Channel. How are they connected? Maybe they are not connected.

History is the flagship for Warner. So A&E, History, Hearst and Disney are linked.

But then how does Apple fit into the picture? Disney and Apple are linked. Jobs selected Iger. But Iger is out so who is connecting whom? They are brands. Disney, Apple, and Tesla are three of the top ten brands, according to MBLM’s Brand Intimacy 2022 Study. Go to that article if you want to see the top 10. MBLM invented “Brand Intimacy,” the emotional science behind the brands we use and love.

So all I’m say here is that if you want to know who is programming your knowledge, you have to understand both Brands and the Corporations who own them. Argh. It never ends. Department of Redundancy Department. Perhaps brands and corporations are examples of Schesis onomaton.

Back to the matter at hand, so who owns Hulu? Hulu is Disney.

I can’t figure out all the interconnections and what those mean, but I do know that we need to know who is meme-ing us. How do we know what they are broadcasting or streaming is accurate. How many levels of obscurity are necessary before they can lie their asses off and we don’t notice.

So The UFOs come in when we look at the Rasp-Barry-Putin threat. Actually Putin and Rasputin are only related by their love of poison). According to some “science-y” show that has physicist Michio Kaku on it and Nick Pope hawking his books and expertise– UFOs shut down our nuclear missile silos sequentially in the 1960s. Bing, bing, bing. And to freak the Soviets out they (aliens) activated the USSR’s in the 80s, but someone saw what a screw up that was and shut them down. That is the standard story. So the “WWIII has started” crowd which may or may not be an accurate descriptor, is as yet to chime in on how all this New World united against aliens, just like Ronny Ray-guns told us, is playing out in Ukraine.

Please note I am saying Ukraine not the Ukraine as the former is a country and the later with the article in front of the word which denotes a region. Russia is trying to take back a region of the old USSR. But that region is a Country. Just like Georgia. Just like Crimea.
