I just received the Logitech ultra-thin keyboard and cover I had pre-ordered to receive as soon as they began to ship. So far I love it! I found out about the imminent unveiling of this iPad “accessory” from Simutek, the go to place for all things Apple or Mac long before Tucson was deemed worthy of having an Apple Store.
Yes it is small; the keyboard is the same size as the screen so there is no dissonance between keyboard size and screen size. Intuitively it makes sense. And for QWERTY-indoctrinated folks who have had this inputting preference etched and re-etched into their neuronal pathways over the years, this key arrangement with squooshy little buttons that depress just feels right.
I think I will have to get a different cushy carrier, although theoretically I do not have to because the keyboard also acts as a cover, and a stand. Neato! Now if we could just solve the Flash problem, I would be all set. Yes, I find the absence of being able to see Flash sites extremely inconvenient. Well that is not quite true, Flash is one of the remaining challenges for my seamless integration of the iPad into my mobile life. There is one other problem, but I will be getting a drawing program for the iPad in a few days for my birthday. And, yes, I will review it. Now, I can compose, using all my fingers, from the iPad using the WordPress app. And, oh yes, I still have to figure out away to upload images into posts from WP on my iPad, but I am very, very close to having the equivalent of a small, itsy-bitsy, laptop.
Happy, happy, joy, joy!
