Those of you who know me well know that I am a veritable idea machine. I crank out great ideas. I have had really seminal flashes of insight about cultural trends that I should have capitalized on several times in my life. Late boomers and high school electronic class lists are probably the ones from which I missed the biggest economic benefits. No more! I love making ideas become real. I am now making them real and profitable. While it is too late to heed my intellectual foremother’s advice that it is just as easy to fall in love with a rich man as a poor one, it is just as worthwhile to develop a for profit great idea as it is a great non-profit idea.
So I am going to Silicon Valley late this coming week for BlogHer|bet: Business, Entrepreneurism and Technology to learn from some of the best women in business and tech in the U.S. I cannot believe that everyone in the Blogher network didn’t jump on this one as quickly as I did. I still have to figure out a few details, like getting around the southern part of the Bay Area without a car!
I’m giving myself some luxury time to go over my pitch deck by taking the train there. I will fly back but that is just because I will want to get back to dear old Tucson as quickly as possible to put all the great things I will have learned into action in this new venture that you will hear more about in the next few weeks as it is safe to release details.
Like all of my ideas it is essentially an altruistic one but I’m going to develop this one in the marketplace. And yes, I believe in the marketplace. I believe in the local, responsible, interconnected marketplace and the free flow of information.
I’m so excited. This next venture is going to be amazing!
