Thanksgiving Weekend in Review

I have not been active in any gratitude months, weeks, lists or activities recently.  Does that make me ungrateful or unthankful?  Nope.  It just makes me an independent agent of appreciation this year.
I missed my daughter terribly, but she had a good Thanksgiving with her honey and his brother’s family up in the Great White North of Minnesota.  Now that she lives there she no longer thinks I tortured her the year we went to visit her sister at Barnard and stood out in the freezing weather for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  She now knows Minnesota can get much much colder.  Her sister, my step-daughter still lives in NY so long weekends such as  long Thanksgiving weekend rarely finds us wanting to make the Tucson to NYC trip.  With twin 3 year olds they rarely want to make the trip out here either.  So this was one of the no-family Thanksgivings.  But we had great food with friends.

I am so fortunate to not have ever faced real hunger.  Most of the world has.  The abundance I know is rather obscene actually when I look at SNAP benefits being cut and children being constantly hungry in a nation where there is such abundance.

A migraine started for me on Thursday night and ended last night.  Ick.  3 day migraines are extremely annoying.  So I did not get out to my anti-big-box or pro-local Friday and Saturday events which I really wanted to  photograph and write about, but I managed to put a pretty good talk together for Tucson Women Bloggers on SEO in spite of the headache.  The event, the TWB Meetup today was fun to present.  I love sharing information that is useful.  A local friend, and blogger, attended for the first time, and a few others were return participants.  Seeing familiar faces reassures me.  I love these little events I put together.  Sharing is fun and energizing.

And upon arriving home, another friend who is a writer but hasn’t done as much e-writing as she would like to do had invited me to participate in a 9 day Facebook event.  I joined up.  How can anything with such a beautiful logo that is a woman-centered event be anything but good.

So Thanksgiving was good, if you were wondering.  I’m saving my real exuberance for when the twin grand-toddlers arrive in Tucson on the 18th with their parents, of course.
