Staying Focused Under Fire

Focus is Perspective

A bit of perspective coaching for you for Women’s History Month. Living well is not the best revenge. Success is the best revenge. Or better yet, Success is the best response.

Inspirational quote by Dolores Huerta. "Yes We Can."

Many courses of events, current events, and actions and processes beyond our control are at work in the world. Seems to be getting more intense all the time, right?

Where to Channel Energy

Rather than fight against these things, why not change them? These are not the same things. When we fight something we are putting energy into opposition and strengthening the very thing we are fighting.

Instead by putting energy into ourselves and fixing our gaze on an outcome beyond the obstacle we very well may find a path over, around, or under that gets us where we want to be and leaves those folks who were in our path and trying to stop us wondering, “How did she accomplish that?” or “How did she get there?”

There are no secrets to this process. It is a shift in perspective coupled with tenacity and resilience.

Stumble, The Get Going Again

I let myself fall into a trap of thinking that all I have built had come to nothing. “Poor me,” and “If only…” statements grew larger everyday and began to really weigh me down. Then I decided to pull myself together for the 800th time in my life and when I concentrated or meditated or whatever it is that I do to myself when I know I have to change something. Then I realized that I had no specific major GOAL to give myself purpose. I need a major goal, a guide star so to speak, or I get lost.

Some of us need specific small steps, exacting tactics, and tight schedules to be happy enough to strive for our goals. Others of us need strategies and global plans to kick our butts toward achievement. Do not be surprised if you at times get sidetracked and forget how you best work. This is especially common for me after life stage changes. It is worth thinking about this if you get stuck.

My Goal

I am getting ready to launch this business. I have blogged and built a platform with lots of content. Seems like I have been planning this forever.

It is time to turn my passion and efforts for giving women the tools to create, curate, and publish into a real business so I have the resources to create more tools to help you live your legacy now. It is win, win. It will be cyclic growth. Watch out world!

Over the next six months I am following a specific plan (via a course and coaching – we all need help sometimes) to make my blog and business effective and efficient. I will let you know how it went.

In the meanwhile expect more of my usual talk about perspective and reframing advise and some sneak peaks at some really wonderful curation and publication tools that are on their way.

Let’s make the world a better place for Women’s History Month. I know I am aiming for that.
