I just got back from the All Souls Procession.  I checked messages on the Trolley on the way to the plaza at San Augustine Mercado.  I hadn’t checked them since this morning.  I got a text from my nephew saying his dad had died last night.

Rest in Peace my Brother.  Mom, Dad, Dave, Max, and now you are gone.  It is getting a bit lonely here.  Only Jim and I left.

I sent my love to you among the flames when they burned the prayers at the alter tonight after the procession.

Nancy, so sorry and what a blessing to at least have just finished the All Souls Procession when the news was delivered. I’m the oldest of my siblings and we’re all still here so haven’t faced that one yet. (((NANCY))))
PS: can’t really see the letters I am typing very well so hoping I am going slow enough to be accurate.

Thank you Gerry. Roger is the third of my four brothers to leave this world. It is different when it is your own generation or even a generation younger than us. I hope your surgery went well. It is never easy, but he is no longer confused or angry that he cannot go home. Sure those of us remaining here who loved him hurt, but his pain is over.
