America First
Who previously used this phraseology?
Yep. They use it. But they were no where close to the first to do so.
In the late 1930s America First sentiments rose with the isolationist belief that since the US was not likely to directly attacked by Germany, we should stay out of the European dispute and that there was no problem in with Germany and the Nazis for financial gain. America First Committee and its chair Robert E. Wood advocated isolationism until shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor and the entrance of the US into WWII.
American First Family (Bush) Connections
Prescott Bush was a director of a firm involved with the financial architects of Nazism. His company’s assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act. (See this Fox News article for details.) And these two links (one from the Guardian with names names that can be searched in the National Archives, and one links to a search that may or may not be a permalink for the National Archives) are also detail rich.
According to The Guardian the first set of files is the Harriman papers in the Library of Congress. The second set of papers are in the National Archives, are contained in vesting order number 248. The third set of documents, also at the National Archives, are contained in the files on IG Farben, who was prosecuted for war crimes.
The Fascea Symbol
A bundle of sticks bound together with an axe protruding from the bundle, the fasces, is the symbol from ancient Rome, that was also adopted as a symbol of the Fascists in Italy in the 20th Century. This symbolic use continues to the present.
Bound together beyond reason I believe. This symbol now has come to symbolize partisan unity slicing down all opposition without civil discussion. It is dismissive, angry, and disrespectful. It easily shifts into hate, fear, and violence.
This America First ideology did not begin with any one family. At this moment in time it has taken over the voice all three branches of our Government.
I am ashamed of and sickened by what is happening in our country.
