Okay, I've Had It. This BS Is About Racism!

We have a problem Houston.
Oh, Houston has been dismantled.  There is no one to answer. We as Americans no longer value science, discovery, learning, and the differences that feed and keep our systems alive.  We have allowed our government to be taken over by ignoramuses and stooges in the employment of billionaires.
My assumptions in this article:  To be a racist you have to be ignorant.  You have to be willing to ignore what obviously is.
Because some racist right wingers were able to find funding from über-rich folks who wanted to use them to assist with a tag-team assault on personal liberty in favor of the expansion of corporate rights, and because there are entertainment-based radio hosts pretending to be political zealots in order to rake in millions upon millions, because people remain silent and try to remain unnoticed during troubled times, and because information does not yet flow freely and equally in our country, our economy (both domestic and global) is ready to nose-dive  –

Majority Leader Sen. Reid said on the floor a bit after 11:30 a.m. Tuesday that rating agencies are talking about downgrading U.S. debt “as soon as tonight.” But the remark likely did not arise from inside knowledge about the plans of ratings agencies, a Reid adviser says.  Read more: http://swampland.time.com/2013/10/15/harry-reid-claims-no-inside-knowledge-of-ratings-downgrade/#ixzz2hpKSjEVz

and

Fitch puts us on downgrade watch.  (Fitch describes itself:  Fitch Ratings is a global rating agency dedicated to providing value beyond the rating through objective and balanced credit opinions, research and data.)

When the rating goes down, what little is left of my husband’s retirement tanks.  Our home that is not paid for (we also have a second mortgage taken out while I was in Indiana keeping my mom in her home while she was dying) cannot be refinanced at a lower rate and we couldn’t pay it off as planned because of the value lost on our home in 2008.  We are underwater.
Racism isn’t the only problem in our country.  The Iraq War and The Patriot Act show a deeply problematic fascist vein in our body politic.
TAFTA, NSA data collection, and President Obama’s willingness to use drones to target civilians in sovereign nations with whom we are not at war also troubles me.
But the tolerance of racist images, actions, and words disgusts and frightens me.  I am as lily white as they come, but racism, ultimately, is not about race.  It is about small, mean-spirited people wanting to have power over others.
The biggest and most frightening thing about our country right now is everyone’s willingness to call the “Tea Party” a politically conservative wing of the Republican Party is frightening when it is a lynch mob.  The Tea Party of Cruz and Palin want to destroy President Obama, and if the only way they can do that is to kill America, they are willing to do it.  It would be worth it to them, they think, to destroy the United States if Obama would be blamed.
I see seditious acts everywhere.  Take this twitpic from a couple days ago.

Even our Supreme Court tolerates and engages in the intolerable speech of racism.
This is about a bunch of idiots who care only about their own fame and finances affiliating themselves with dangerous, anti-American Confederates.  I don’t include Palin in the idiots, I include her in the Anti-American Confederates.  Remember when reasonable people were aghast that someone with a husband who was a member of a fringe states rights party was the VP on one of the two major tickets in 2008?  That appeasement of truly fringe, anti-American wackos lent credibility to them.  The Republicans are to blame for allowing these idiots in through the backdoor of their party.
I’m angry.  My pro-peace actions with a bunch of other women who did not want our children being used as fodder in Cheney’s war, were called all sorts of names, as was I, including one that probably could be called “worthy of having an FBI file” as well as being threatened with lynching by “Freepers” during actions – and these truly dangerous, truly seditious actions are ignored.  If we Pinkers had taken down barricades or entered closed national properties, we would have been arrested and charged with major offenses.
I want peace, equality, and sensible economic actions, not a re-fighting of one of the most shameful wars in our nation’s history.

You’ve got it so right!! First, it was… we will do whatever it takes to make Obama look bad so he won’t be reelected. And now that that didn’t work…let’s destroy the US economy so Obama “takes the fall”! Plus, most of these individuals consider themselves “Christian”!

Completely agree, Nancy. Feeling helpless. Some of our friends are convinced it’s about “end days.” Thius, they don’t care. But even Pat Robertson is telling them to come to their senses. I too am retired, thank God not underwater in my mortgage. But I still want the President to stand strong or else there will be no end to this kind of piracy.
I can only keep sending peace energy out, knowing some of it will land in important places. Signing another petition, sending in another donation, too little too late. i can only hope some big money people wake up and stop this nonsense. Tonight.
