A is for About

A is for ABOUT. The A to Z Blog Challenge started in 2010. I first attempted it ten years ago in 2012 I think. I’m not so big on adding challenges to my life, but I find this to be not so much a challenge as a tool with which I examine an aspect of a project within the Women’s Legacy Project.

#AtoZChallenge 2022 alternative badge

This year’s Challenge is dedicated to the graphic artist, Jeremy Hawkins, who worked with the challenge organizers these past few years and who tragically passed away from Covid. I did not know him so I am using the generic or alternate badge for this challenge as I do not want to be disrespectful or suggest a close relationship with him.

You can see who is signing up to participate on a spreadsheet created and shared by the hosts. By the 10th of April the participants will be firmed up. Use this tiny url to see the master list.

There are lots of ways, perhaps an infinite number, to participate in this challenge. I’ve done themed and un-themed, successfully completed the challenge and failed horribly by not completing the challenge in the past.

This is what I’ve cooked up so far for the structure of my posts.

At this point, none of these following posts are written. Yikes!

Good luck with the Challenge. Some of your post titles intrigue me -Jupiter and Julips, for example. I’ll be back. For me, it’s hard if I don’t pre write at least some of the posts. I have my first weeks post almost all done, so I can concentrate on reading other blogs. On the other hand, I haven’t even come up with all of my daily topics (especially X).

    G’day Nancy,
I will be following family historians in the challenge and I like the look of some of your topics. I am not using my normal family history blog but am working with some people from a local historical society to create posts about their municipality. https://sorell200.edublogs.org

Sounds like interesting reading ahead. Since about the 3rd Challenge I’ve usually tried to write all my posts ahead of time, but have never done them all. This year they’re all done in advance and I feel a load off my shoulders. However, I always enjoyed those years when I just winged along as the days came. It was a real challenge that way, but these days I don’t need too many big challenges.

I wish you well in the month of April.

I have to say I am in your debt for starting this whole thing back in 2010. I use this A to Z as a helpful tool to fill out my thinking, writing, and sharing about my favorite topic of women changing the world with their words. Thanks for the comment!
